Sonex Waiex Airplane Build
Katherine, President and Co-Founder, is building a Sonex Waiex A-Model.
Specs once complete:
•Wingspan – 22 feet wide
•Length – 18 feet and one inch
•Number of seats – 2
•Weight – 620 pounds empty
•Fuel Capacity – 20 gallons
•Top speed – 180 miles per hour (3 miles a minute!)
•Flies upside down? YOU BET!
Junior Aviation Day
Junior Aviation Day is an opportunity for children ages 8-17 to do hands-on activities and learn more about aviation, talk to military and civilian pilots and experience flight first hand. This is an event led by kids, for kids! Thank you to our partners at Del Rio International Airport, EAA Chapter 1608, Moses Aviation, Pico Aviation, Aim High Flight Academy, Air Force Recruiting Service Detachment 1, Laughlin Air Force Base, Jet Press Printers and Fort Clark Springs Airport for helping us make this event happen! We hope to continue this event annually in rural communities.
